Teachers
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition and the Principal Resident Teacher at Manjushri KMC, will grant the empowerment and give the teachings at the Festival. Gen-la is loved and respected throughout the world for the sincerity of her practice and the power of her wisdom and compassion. She has been a student of Geshe Kelsang for thirty years, during which time she has inspired thousands of people around the world through her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life. Gen-la is a modern Buddhist nun dedicated to helping people from all walks of life attain lasting happiness through developing inner mental peace.
Gen Kelsang Chogyan, the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada, will give the Introductory Talk on Friday night, and guide the retreat at the Festival. She has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for many years, under the guidance of her teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Gen Choygan presents Buddha’s teachings in a practical and accessible way, in accordance with our modern lives.
Gen Kelsang Delek, the Resident Teacher of Tilopa Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Vancouver, will guide the meditations at the Festival. Gen Delek has been a dedicated disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, for many years and has been studying in the Kadampa Tradition for over 20 years. Originally from Great Britain she has been resident in Canada since 1997 teaching in BC and Ontario. She is known for the clarity and strength of her teachings as well as her kind and caring nature.
